How to prepare for a gutter cleaning visit

What to do before your gutter cleaning visit: access, pets, parking, and what to flag ahead of time so the visit goes smoothly.

Your price online in minutes. No callback, no estimate visit.

How tall is your home?
When do you need it?

Three more short steps. No contact details until you have seen the number.

A little preparation keeps your visit on schedule and avoids surprises for you or whoever shows up to do the work. None of this takes long, and most of it is a one-time check the morning of or the day before your confirmed window.

What access do I need to clear?

Make sure gates are unlocked or you've left a code, and that any side-yard or backyard paths a ladder would need are walkable. If a gate is padlocked and nobody's told, the visit can't proceed on schedule. If you have a locked side yard on only one side of the house, mention it when you request so it's not a surprise at the door.

What should I do about pets?

Keep dogs inside or secured in a part of the yard the provider won't need, especially if your dog isn't used to strangers moving ladders and buckets around the yard. This protects your pet as much as it protects the visit; a startled dog and a ladder are a bad combination for everyone.

Do I need to move my car or clear the driveway?

If a downspout empties near where you normally park, or a ladder needs to go up near your driveway, move vehicles out of the way before the visit window starts. A blocked driveway can delay setup or force the provider to work around your car instead of the gutters.

Is there anything near a hose bib I should check?

If your outdoor hose bib is used to flush downspouts or rinse debris, make sure it's not disconnected, winterized, or blocked by stored items. If your hose bib is broken or shut off for the season, mention it when you request.

What about fragile landscaping near the house?

Point out anything delicate right under your gutters, like a flower bed or a small tree, when you request or when the provider arrives. Debris removal happens right where it lands, so knowing what's underneath helps avoid damage to plants you care about.

Do I need to be home?

Not necessarily, but someone needs to be reachable in case a question comes up, like an unexpected access issue or a repair the provider notices along the way. If you won't be home, leave a phone number where you can actually be reached during the visit window, and see rental property gutter cleaning if you're arranging this for a property you don't live at.

What we do not do

Preparation is about the property being ready for us, not the other way around. We don't ask you to remove existing debris yourself before we arrive; that's the job.

FAQ

What if I forget to unlock a gate? Tell us as soon as you realize, ideally before the visit window starts. A blocked access point can mean the visit has to be rescheduled.

Do I need to clean up my yard first? No, normal yard conditions are fine. We're referring to access points and hazards, not tidiness.

What if it's raining or has just rained the day of my visit? See our seasonal timing guide and your confirmation details for how weather can affect scheduling.

Should I tell you about a known problem area, like a sagging section? Yes, mention it when you request so it's not a surprise, even though we clean rather than repair.

Why book this way

  • Your price online in minutes. No callback, no estimate visit, no waiting for someone to get back to you. Typically the quickest way to book this service.
  • One all-in price before any contact. None of the nine national gutter brands we read publishes a price; each asks for an estimate first (read 2026-09-16 and 2026-09-17).
  • One point of contact from your request to the finished job. We work with a local partner and answer for the result.
  • You pay only after the price and your booking are confirmed.
